About the event
In today's fast-paced and complex world, we all face overwhelming stress and emotional challenges. The Guide to Buddhist Counseling offers a unique approach by integrating Buddhist concepts into professional psychology. This groundbreaking book presents a theoretical orientation for counseling rooted in Early Buddhist teachings, providing mental health professionals with practical tools for addressing everyday struggles.
Dr. Lee begins by outlining essential Buddhist concepts that illuminate understanding of human nature and the sources of stress. He introduces a comprehensive Buddhist counseling model, titled Note, Know, Choose, offering practices for counselors that foster personal growth, such as self-cultivation plans, contemplative exercises, and various meditation techniques. By demonstrating how to apply this model in assessment, conceptualization, and intervention, Dr. Lee shares real-life case examples that illustrate how these practices can effectively alleviate stress and promote well-being in clients' lives.
