As we approach Hong Kong Fintech Week, the GARP Hong Kong Chapter for an introduction to the cryptocurrency sector in Hong Kong and looking at it from a risk lens. This session will cover insights into the risks linked to this expanding asset class.
Speakers will delve into the following topics, offering perspectives from both academic and practical angles:
An overview of Hong Kong's crypto market compared to other global markets
Unique features of ETFs, OTC, stablecoins, and their licensing requirements
Major risks related to crypto assets, particularly regarding their broader adoption in the financial services sector, including the emergence of crypto exchanges, retail investor interest, and associated custody and security challenges.
